As political analysts and the American public assess Thursday night’s vice presidential debate between VP Joe Biden and Rep. Paul Ryan, social media—Twitter in particular—have lit up with comments, jokes and photos poking fun at both men.
Perhaps proving that style leaves a more lasting impression than substance in US politics, many made light of Biden’s frequent laughs and smirks when his Republican opponent spoke. Hollywood comedians Patton Oswalt and Chris Rock tweeted jokes, while others posted pictures and memes.
