Klara Zakopalova booked her place in the second round of the Kremlin Cup on Monday after beating Romania's Alexandra Cadantu in straight sets.
Zakopalova's 6-3, 6-3 win over a player ranked 55 places below her No. 30 rating sets up an all-Czech second round match with Lucie Safarova, who earlier knocked out Russian youngster Margarita Gasparyan.
Earlier, Sweden's Sofia Arvidsson beat Serbia's Bojana Jovanovski 6-2, 6-4 and will now play second seed Marion Bartoli, who received a first-round bye.
