United States Senate Majority Leader, Democrat Harry Reid from Nevada was taken to the hospital Friday after a car crash on a Las Vegas highway.
Reid, 72, was traveling in a multi-vehicle caravan heading north on Interstate 15 when his car was rear-ended in a chain-reaction crash involving six vehicles around 1:10 p.m. local time, the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) said.
An NHP trooper said the accident involved two Las Vegas police vehicles, two US Capitol Police vehicles and two civilian vehicles.
Reid was taken to the University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
His injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, police said.
