MOSCOW, November 3 (RIA Novosti) - Poland’s Jerzy Janowicz stunned France’s Gilles Simon on Saturday to reach his first ATP Tour final at the Paris Masters.

World No. 69 Janowicz made up 49 ranking places to beat the home crowd favorite 6-4, 7-5 and become the first Pole to compete in a Paris Masters final since Wojciech Fibak won the tournament in 1981.

In the final, Janowicz will meet either Spanish world No. 5 David Ferrer or veteran world No. 121 Michael Llodra of France.

This year’s Paris Masters has seen its share of surprise results, with all of the top three seeds having either beaten or withdrawn before the quarterfinals.
