Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic beat Serbia’s Jelena Jankovic in straight sets to clinch an unassailable 3-1 lead and win a second-consecutive Fed Cup title on Sunday.

MOSCOW, November 4 (R-Sport) – Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic beat Serbia’s Jelena Jankovic in straight sets to clinch an unassailable 3-1 lead and win a second-consecutive Fed Cup title on Sunday.

The world No. 17 Safarova overpowered former No. 1 Jankovic 6-1, 6-1 on the hard court in Prague.

Earlier Sunday, another former world No. 1 Ana Ivanovic upset Petra Kvitova 6-3, 7-5 to keep Serbia's hopes alive after the defending champion had taken a 2-0 lead on Saturday.

The Czech Republic won its first Fed Cup last year in Moscow by beating Russia 3-2. Czechoslovakia claimed five trophies in the 1970s and 1980s.
