MOSCOW, November 4 (RIA Novosti) - Russia ran out 29-15 winners over Oxford University on Sunday in a warm-up match for games against the United States and Canada.
The Russians ran in five tries in Oxford, including two for full-back Denis Simplikevich, but coach Kingsley Jones is likely to be concerned about conceding 15 points to a team of students.
Russia face the U.S. on Friday and Canada on November 17, with both matches to be played in Colwyn Bay in Jones’ home nation of Wales.
The 30-man Russian squad features 13 of the players who impressed in Russia's first Rugby World Cup appearance last year, while Northampton Saints wing Vasily Artemyev is expected to be added later.
