MOSCOW, November 6 (R-Sport) – SKA St. Petersburg's Canadian defenseman Kevin Dallman has been named among the KHL's players of the week, announced Tuesday.
Dallman, 31, scored two goals and provided three assists in three games to win the best defenseman of the week accolade with a plus-five rating.
Dallman had played for the Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues, Boston Bruins in the NHL before moving to Russia in 2008 to join Barys Astana, for which he played until the end of last season.
In other nominations, Ak Bars Kazan stalwart Danis Zaripov, in the team since 2001, was named the best forward after netting four goals and recording one assist in three games for a plus-three rating.
Traktor Chelyabinsk’s Andrey Mezin was the top goaltender, stopping 98.46 percent of shots last week and posting a shutout in a 2-0 defeat of Dynamo Minsk.
Avangard Omsk goaltender Eduard Reizvikh is the best rookie of the week, blocking 23 shots to post a shutout in a 2-0 defeat of Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk. It was only the fourth game of the season for the 21-year-old.
