MOSCOW, November 9 (R-Sport) – World No. 1 Novak Djokovic secured a straight-sets win over Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic and a spot in the semifinal of the Tour Finals in London on Friday.
The Serbian star defeated Berdych in his second match of the round robin stage of the $8.85 million season-ending event for and will learn his next opponent Saturday.
Last year’s semifinalist Berdych, ranked sixth in the world, crashed out of the tournament after winning only one match against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
Djokovic had to survive three set balls in the second set to grab a 6-2, 7-6 victory improving his head-to-head record to 11-1 and continuing a run of beating Berdych at the Tour Finals every year since 2010.
Berdych ends his season on a career-high ranking of No. 6 after winning two ATP titles.
