MOSCOW, November 14 (R-Sport) – Washington Capitals forward Niklas Backstrom scored three goals as his lockout team Dynamo Moscow beat Vityaz Chekhov 4-3 on the road in overtime Wednesday.

It was the fourth-consecutive victory for Dynamo, which retained its leadership in the Western Conference, while Vityaz is tenth.

In the first period, Backstrom leveled the score after an early goal by former San Jose Sharks wing Alexander Korolyuk, but then Dynamo goaltender Alexei Volkov let in two more goals.

Backstrom initiated Dynamo’s comeback in the third period while trailing 3-1, scoring one before Konstantin Volkov’s equalizer and adding another on the last minute of overtime.

Backstrom now has six points from as many KHL games, while his Capitals teammate Alex Ovechkin, who racked up two assists in the game, has 16 points from 15 games.

Elsewhere, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl thrashed Slovan Bratislava 4-0 at home to clinch its sixth consecutive victory.

Lokomotiv is second in the West, three points behind Dynamo, and Slovan is seventh.

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Artem Anisimov scored his fourth goal for Lokomotiv, while Colorado Avalanche goaltender Semyon Varlamov stopped 32 shots to post his second shutout of the season.

In another game Wednesday, Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara helped his lockout team Lev Prague beat Torpedo Nizhniy Novgorod 3-2 on the road.

After an exchange of goals early in the first period, Chara hit the net on 14 minutes, helped by an assist from Philadelphia Flyers wing Jakub Voracek.

Jiry Novotny scored in the second period, assisted by both Voracek and Calgary Flames forward Roman Cervenka, before Torpedo defenseman Juuso Hietanen pulled one back in the third.

Lev is eight while Torpedo is fifth and on a four-game losing streak in the West.

Elsewhere, CSKA Moscow clinched a 2-0 victory at Atlant Moscow Region.

Former Nashville Predators wing Alexander Radulov, who returned from a knee injury earlier this week, opened the scoring in the first period before he recorded an assist on Ilya Zubov’s goal in the third.

Atlant players could muster only 14 shots for CSKA goaltender Rastislav Stana, who posted his fourth shutout of the season.

CSKA is fourth in the West and Atlant is 12th with ten consecutive defeats.
