Built under Project 955, The Alexander Nevsky is the first series-produced Borei-class SSBN. It is 170 meters long and 13.5 meters wide, can dive 400 meters and has a submerged speed of up to 29 knots.
The pilot vessel for Project 955, Yury Dolgoruky (photo), is ready to be commissioned. Another new nuclear-powered missile sub, Severodvinsk, is undergoing trials.
It cost 23 billion rubles to build Yury Dolgoruky.
