The jury said that they admired Elina’s grace and artistry.

The winner said the competition had been fierce and she had not held out much hope of winning.

Elina Kireyeva is an economist by profession and also has a degree as an English translator.

The young woman also found time to study at one of the modelling agencies in her home town.

Elina Kireyeva dedicated her victory to her mother, who celebrates her birthday tomorrow.

Part of the Russian Beauty contest entails taking on the role of TV host.

The award ceremony was held in the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army.

Sixty-three women from all across the country competed for the title of Russian Beauty 2012.

As well as being able to wear beautiful clothes, each of the contestants had to demonstrate their singing, dancing and sketching talents.

To prepare for the contest the girls spent almost a month with professional trainers, stylists and hairdressers. The actual competition day for them began at 7 in the morning and ended well past midnight.

In the final of the Russian Beauty 2012 contest, winners were also announced in other categories. In particular, the title of “Miss Talent” went to Nadezhda Rospopova from the Kursk Region, and the title of “Young Russian Beauty” was won by Alisa Zlydneva from Irkutsk.
