MEXICO/HAVANA, November 28 (RIA Novosti) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez will fly to Cuba on Wednesday to continue his treatment, regional media reported.
The Venezuelan leader had obtained the parliament’s permission to leave the country.
In a letter to the National Assembly speaker Chavez said he decided to follow recommendations by Cuban doctors, who advised him to undergo several courses of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and physiotherapy six months after the cancer treatment course.
Chavez, who has ruled Venezuela for 13 years, underwent three operations for cancer in the pelvic region and four courses of chemotherapy in Cuba and Venezuela within a year.
Chavez, 58, was re-elected for another six-year presidential term in October.
