LONDON, December 3 (RIA Novosti) – Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, are expecting their first child, St James’s Palace said in a statement on Monday.
"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby," the Palace said. "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news."
The duchess was admitted to a hospital in central London with an acute morning sickness typical of the early stages of pregnancy, the Palace reported.
Prince William, who is second in line to the throne after his father, Prince Charles, and Kate Middleton were married on April 29, 2011. The baby will be the queen's third great-grandchild.
