MOSCOW, January 6 (RIA Novosti) - Four people, including a suspected gunman, were found dead on Saturday in a house in Colorado after a standoff with police, CNN reported.
Early on Saturday a police patrol arrived to a townhouse in Aurora, Colorado, after being alerted of shooting. A woman who managed to flee the house and alert the authorities said she saw three apparently lifeless bodies there.
The suspected shooter barricaded inside the house and refused to lay down his weapon and surrender.
"The male was given multiple commands to come out of the house both on the phone and from a bullhorn outside. He did not comply," the channel quoted Sgt. Cassidee Carlson as saying.
Five hours into the standoff, the gunman fired at police in an armored vehicle who broke out a house window. Police did not return fire.
An hour later, the gunman fired upon officers from a second-floor window and was injured when police returned fire. He was found dead when police entered the house.
Three bodies were also found inside the building - two men and one woman.
Aurora made headlines last July with another deadly shooting. A 25-year-old gunman killed 12 people and injured 58 during the midnight screening of the Batman film "The Dark Knight Rises."
