MOSCOW, January 6 (RIA Novosti) - Over 20 juvenile delinquents escaped a special educational facility in the Siberian city of Surgut on Saturday, the local interior ministry office said in a statement.
“A total of 23 teenagers left a special closed school for minors, who committed offenses before reaching the age of criminal responsibility,” the statement reads.
The details of the escape were not disclosed.
The incident was not immediately reported to police, as school employees tried to find the children on their own in a bid to avoid publicity.
Five juveniles have already returned to the facility on their own.
