MOSCOW, January 7 (RIA Novosti) - At least eight people died when a methane blast ripped through a coal mine in northern Turkey on Monday, the CNN-Turk TV channel reported.
Seven workers were hospitalized with methane gas poisoning.
The blast occurred at the depth of 630 meters at a mine in the Black Sea province of Zonguldak.
Turkey’s deadliest methane blast occurred in the same province in 1992. It claimed the lives of 263 people.
