MOSCOW, January 8 (RIA Novosti) - A Dutch artist has made a bid to register the name ‘Allah’ as a trademark with the Benelux intellectual property office in The Hague, the Telegraaf reported.
Amsterdammer Teun Castelein told the paper it is an ‘incredibly beautiful name’ and that he is surprised no-one has registered the name before.
However, the 32-year-old’s €250 efforts to exploit the name Allah are likely to fail.
According to the registration document seen by DutchNews.nl, the application has been tagged ‘preliminary decision to refuse’.
