Russian chief sanitary official Gennady Onishchenko said on Monday he was ready to discuss the resumption of water and wine imports with a Georgian delegation in late January or early February.
Russia, the main importer of Georgia's produce up to 2008, closed its borders to Georgian wines over the producers' alleged failure to meet food safety standards, in particular with regard to wine containing pesticides and heavy metals.
