Ex-governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger arrived in Moscow to launch his new action film “The Last Stand” which sees him taking a leading role once again, after a long break from acting. This is not Schwarzenegger’s first visit to Moscow. He visited the Russian capital in 1988 while filming “Red Heat” and opened Planet Hollywood in the city in 1996. In 2010 he visited the Higher School of Economics in Skolkovo, and went for a drive in a classic Russian car, with Dmitry Medvedev.

“The Last Stand,” directed by Kim Jee-woon, takes the viewer to a small American town on the border with Mexico. Arnie plays the sheriff, who is on the trail of drug lord and FBI fugitive Gabriel Cortez.
Schwarzenegger told journalists that playing an older man was a challenge, as he feels as young as ever, and that he was nervous about returning to the big screen after taking time out for his political career.
The actor also outlined other films in the pipeline, including a sequel to “Twins,” which will see him star alongside Danny DeVito and Eddie Murphy. He also said he planned to attend the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.
Schwarzenegger refused to talk politics, though he did mention some key current global issues. Wrapping up the press conference, he let slip that he had recently acquired the tank he drove while serving with the Austrian army.
