Artist Ivan Dyrkin designed and built a dome house in Novosibirsk.

Before starting, he studied designs for dome buildings.

Dyrkin found the plans he needed, calculated the panel angles and selected his construction materials.

Domes like this have numerous advantages over conventional building designs.

For example, a third of the house can be destroyed and it will still stand.

This structure is very stable; wind pressure is less of a factor due to the building’s aerodynamic form.

Even while it was still under construction, the dome house sparked a lot of interest.
