NEW DELHI, March 9 (RIA Novosti) – An explosion in a mosque in northwest Pakistan killed at least six and injured another 30 people on Saturday, local media have reported citing police.
The blast inside the Chishtia Hanafia Ganj Ali Khan mosque in the city of Peshawar occurred when people were preparing to pray. The bomb was planted near the front row of the congregation, DAWN newspaper has reported.
The imam of the mosque could have been killed in the explosion, the newspaper said.
Explosives weighing around six kilograms (13 lbs) were used in the remote-controlled bomb blast.
