Maj. Gen. Andrei Batrak, the deputy commander of the Interior Ministry’s Siberian Regional Command of the Internal Troops, said the Gorny Training Center was the most modern and popular facility in the region.
The purpose of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of the Interior of Russia is to ensure individual, public and state security, and to protect human rights and freedoms against criminal and other violations.
The Internal Troops are supposed to fight terrorism, guard sensitive state facilities and special cargoes, defend national territory and assist the border agencies of the Federal Security Service with protecting the state border.
