US Paralympic swimmer Jessica Long was adopted from a Siberian orphanage by a Baltimore couple when she was 13 months old and has gone on to capture gold medals in the last three Paralympic Games, beginning in Athens in 2004 when she was 12 years old. Long, who currently holds 15 Paralympic swimming records, is planning to return to Russian later this year for the first time since her adoption to meet her biological parents.
