The German-built 180-meter (590 foot) superyacht Azzam was launched last week, grabbing the title of the largest motor yacht in the world from Roman Abramovich’s 164-meter (536-foot) Eclipse.
The German-built 180-meter (590 foot) superyacht Azzam was launched last week, grabbing the title of the largest motor yacht in the world from Roman Abramovich’s 164-meter (536-foot) Eclipse.
The German-built 180-meter (590 foot) superyacht Azzam was launched last week, grabbing the title of the largest motor yacht in the world from Roman Abramovich’s 164-meter (536-foot) Eclipse.
The yacht is able to travel at speeds of more than 30 knots, powered by a combination of two gas turbines and two diesel engines with a total 94,000 horse power.
After a year of engineering, the record-breaking yacht was built in just three years. The luxurious interior was designed by renowned French designer Christophe Leoni.
The owner of the Azzam has yet to be identified, media reports speculate the owner is likely a member of the Saudi royal family.
