MOSCOW, April 18 (RIA Novosti) - A search of the Skolkovo Foundation office on Thursday turned up documents that investigators seized as evidence in an embezzlement case against former officials, the Russian Investigative Committee said.
Police and Federal Security Service (FSB) officers searched the Skolkovo Foundation headquarters in Moscow as part of an ongoing investigation into possible embezzlement of millions of rubles by senior Skolkovo mangers.
“During the investigation… a great number of regulatory, financial, accounting and other documents were seized to be used as evidence in the criminal case,” the Investigative Committee said in a statement.
A criminal case was launched against former senior Skolkovo manger Kirill Lugovtsev and the head of the foundation’s subsidiary Skolkovo Innovation Center Customs Finance Company (TFK Skolkovo) Vladimir Khokhlov over their alleged role in the embezzlement of 24 million rubles (about $760,000) from federal budget funds.
Lugovtsev is suspected of using Skolkovo money to rent a building from a company owned by his parents.
