NEW YORK, April 19 (RIA Novosti) - The UN and Arab League Special Envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi on Friday denied media reports that he was about to quit his job.
“I’m not resigning,” he said, after taking part in Security Council consultations on Syria.
He added that he was unaware of what could have triggered these rumors.
The 78-year-old veteran Algerian diplomat was appointed to the post in September 2012 to replace former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.
