The United States has claimed that chemical weapons have been used in the civil war in Syria. In a recent phone conversation, US President Barack Obama voiced his concerns over Syria’s chemical weapons to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Syria remains one of the states which has not signed the chemical weapons convention. Damascus has denied reports alleging its forces used chemical weapons in its internal conflict.
