BERLIN, May 9 (RIA Novosti) – A lightning strike has injured at least 43 people at a party in northeast Germany, local media said on Thursday.
The lightning struck a group of trees and then an electrical box near a lake in the village of Dabel. The incident occurred when around 500 people had gathered there to celebrate Father's Day in Germany.
A total of 38 people have been hospitalized and are being treated for burns and shock. Seven people have been severely injured. Helicopters were involved in the rescue operation.
