MOSCOW, May 13 (RIA Novosti) – A man from Russia’s second largest city of St. Petersburg admitted killing a woman, her son and their dog, saying he did so in a fit of rage, the Russian Investigative Committee said on Monday.
Investigators suspect Ilya Komarov, a 20-year-old cadet at the Interior Ministry’s Military Institute of Interior Troops, of stabbing to death his 38-year-old female neighbor, her 12-year-old son and their dog.
“[The suspect] said that on May 11, 2013, at about 11 p.m. he entered the apartment of his upstairs neighbors, allegedly to take a look at their bathroom plumbing. Some time later, he had a dispute with the apartment’s female owner and lost his temper,” Russian Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin said.
Markin said the victims had died immediately. Investigators claim that Komarov then took jewelry from the apartment and fled.
"Komarov revealed the place where he had hidden jewelry stolen from the apartment, as well as blood-stained clothes and the knife. The investigator has seized those objects as evidence,” the Russian Investigation Department said in a statement.
