MOSCOW, May 14 (RIA Novosti) – At least 10 people were killed and nine injured in a car accident in Russia’s Penza Region on Tuesday, officials said.
A minibus carrying 18 passengers collided with a truck on Tuesday morning in the Penza Region, about 600 kilometers southeast of Moscow.
“According to preliminary data, the minibus driver caused the crash by driving into the lane for oncoming traffic,” an Interior Ministry spokesman said.
The minibus was carrying seasonal workers, the police said, adding that the vehicle only had seats for 13 passengers.
The accident took place some 18 kilometers from the regional capital on the Tambov-Penza highway.
