MOSCOW, May 14 (R-Sport) - Finnish defenseman Topi Jaakola has joined Lev Prague from Russian club Amur Khabarovsk, the Czechs announced Tuesday.

The 29-year-old joins the KHL's most westerly team after scoring five goals and five assists in 27 appearances for its most easterly team in the regular season.

There was no word on the length of his contract with Lev.

Jaakola has four Finnish championship titles with Karpat and won world championship gold with his country in Slovakia in 2011.

Lev has offloaded at least three players since crashing out of the playoffs in the first round this past season, declining to extend the contracts of goaltender Jakub Stepanek and forwards Jakub Klepis and Jaroslav Svoboda.

The team has also acquired three new players, announcing one-year contracts with defensemen Jakub Nakladal and Juraj Mikus and winger Nicklas Danielsson last month.
