Experts assessed the demographic characteristics of the population, public welfare, social infrastructure, housing affordability, transport and engineering infrastructure, human resources, and the natural and environmental situation. St. Petersburg is ranked second.
Novosibirsk was the third Russian city in terms of quality of life. According to the ranking, Novosibirsk is also a center for innovation development, together with Roston-on-Don, Yekaterinburg and Voronezh.
The Urals city of Yekaterinburg is fourth in the ranking.
Roston-on-Don closes the top five.
Tatarstan’s capital Kazan took sixth place.
Experts evaluated the southern Russian city of Krasnodar as the seventh most attractive city in Russia in terms of quality of life.
