NATO defense chiefs will meet in Brussels next week to review measures on how to protect member countries from cyber attacks, a diplomatic source said on Friday.

BRUSSELS, May 31 (RIA Novosti) – NATO defense chiefs will meet in Brussels next week to review measures on how to protect member countries from cyber attacks, a diplomatic source said on Friday.

US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel will be among the ministers meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday.

NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said in March the alliance plans to “strengthen cyber-security” in response to “regular” computer attacks.

In May 2008, seven NATO nations and the Allied Command Transformation formally established the Cooperative Cyber Defense (CCD) Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Tallinn, Estonia.

Eleven countries are involved in running the center: Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, and the United States.
