For our special section “In Moscow,” RIA Novosti reporters spent a day with child models from the Top Secret Kids agency, finding out what they enjoy most in their work.

For our special section “In Moscow,” RIA Novosti reporters spent a day with child models from the Top Secret Kids agency, finding out what they enjoy most in their work.
The young models, accompanied by their parents, arrived by noon at the venue that would later that evening host the Children’s Ball, in which they would perform. The kids had several hours ahead of them to get ready for the event, to rehearse on the runway, get their hair done, and don the specially prepared designer clothing.
As some of the models rehearsed on the runway, others had their hair done and makeup applied. Industry recruiters generally look for girls with good looks, long hair and a slender figure, yet these criteria are flexible and can change from season to season.
“Now I know about fashion and posing, and I can walk like a model. I love modeling more than anything,” Nikol says. “It’s so wonderful when you walk and photographers are taking your picture, and then later you see the photos on the Internet.”
In her free time, Nikol likes to watch “America's Next Top Model” as well as play outside. But, with a busy schedule that also includes dance classes, the young model rarely has time to herself.
“My teacher at school is proud of me,” Nikol says. “Some of my classmates say ‘wow,’ but others don’t care or think it’s boring. Some just don’t believe me.”
The modeling agency provides the girls with a good experience, teaching them to be confident, present themselves well and maintain proper posture. Even if they don’t make it in the fashion industry, they still know the tricks of the trade, such as how to walk gracefully in high heels.
