KYIV, June 8 (RIA Novosti) – A Soveit-era Yak-52 aircraft crashed near Ukraine’s capital of Kyiv killing at least one and injuring another on Saturday, officials said.
The Yak-52 aircraft went down while performing a pilot training flight not far from Chaika airfield in suburban Kyiv. The pilot died at the scene, while a passenger was rushed to hospital in the capital, the emergencies situation officials said in a statement.
A probe was opened into the crash. The trainer aircraft didn’t catch fire while falling. It was not immediately clear what caused the accident.
