MOSCOW, June 9 (R-Sport) - Russian pair Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina won the women's doubles title at the French Open on Sunday, beating defending champions Roberta Vince and Sara Errani of Italy in a straight-sets final.

Makarova and Vesnina, seeded fourth, prevailed 7-5, 6-2 in 98 minutes to finish the tournament without dropping a set.

It's a first Grand Slam title for Vesnina, 26, who's previous best was a final appearance at Wimbledon in 2010; and a second for Makarova, who teamed up with Bruno Soares to take the mixed doubles title at last year's U.S. Open.

Errani and Vinci, the top seeds, had been chasing a fourth Grand Slam crown and third in succession.

Later, Rafael Nadal plays David Ferrer in the men's singles final. Serena Williams won the women's title on Saturday, beating Maria Sharapova 6-4, 6-4 in the final.
