MOSCOW, June 10 (RIA Novosti) - A total of 87 percent of Russian Internet users are playing computer games monthly, most of them are women and the average age of a gamer is 34 years, a survey conducted by Mail.Ru Group said.
According to the survey, computers remain the most popular device to play games with 87 percent of respondents preferring them. However, 52 percent said they used smart phones to play games, while 48 percent preferred tablets for this purpose.
The majority of gamers in Russia are women with 54 percent of them playing games monthly against 46 percent of men, the survey said, adding that women usually prefer playing on-line games provided by social networks.
According to the survey, most of the respondents said they spent less than one third of their free time playing computer games monthly. They said computer games helped them to take their minds of routine, train brain skills and reaction.
