WASHINGTON, July 1 (RIA Novosti) - Sabina Akhmedova, an actress who trained at the Moscow Institute of Modern Arts will make her American network television debut Monday night in the NBC horror series, “Siberia.”

Akhmedova joined the institute at age 16 and upon graduation performed in the musicals “Hair” and “Jesus Christ Superstar” with Russian-Armenian producer Stas Namin’s “Music and Drama Theater.” Work in Russian television and movies followed, including an acclaimed performance in the prize- winning “Diversant: The End of a War.”

In 2006, Akhmedova moved to Los Angeles to study at the Lee Strasburg Institue. In “Siberia,” contestants for a fictional reality show are deposited where the mysterious “Tunguska event” occurred in 1908- thought to be a meteor crash that leveled 830 square miles (2,150 square kilometers) of forest.
