WASHINGTON, July 3 (RIA Novosti) – Better known for its country music and “Grand Ole Opry” weekly stage concert and radio program, Nashville, Tennessee will host a major retrospective next year from Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky, it has been announced.
“Kandinsky: A Retrospective” will feature “over 80 paintings, watercolors, drawings and a reconstituted mural,” drawn exclusively from the collections of the Centre Pompidou in Paris, Nashville’s Frist Center for the Visual Arts announced in a press release this week. The Kandinsky collection at the Pompidou is drawn from works donated by the Russian artist’s widow.
“Kandinsky: A Retrospective” is scheduled to open at The Frist Center for the Visual Arts in September 2014.
