WASHINGTON, July 3 (RIA Novosti) – Moscow-born stage costume designer Irina Kruzhilina is set to design outfits for a performance to be carried out in a series of giant aquariums in New York City.
Entitled “Holoscenes,” the performance will, according to the official website, feature a “trio of large aquariums that flood, drain, and flood again. Each flooding aquarium is inhabited by a performer conducting an everyday behavior sourced from collaborators across the planet.”
“It’s about everyday behavior and how everyday behavior changes with what’s going on with nature and in the world,” Kruzhilina told fashion and design website, WWD.com.
Kruzhilina will be working with engineers at the The Experimental Performing Arts and Media Center (EMPAC) in New York to design the costumes, she told WWD.com.
Plans for “Holoscenes” involve building aquariums as installations at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and in other cities.
