MOSCOW, July 4 (R-Sport) – Japanese footballer Keisuke Honda is on the brink of a move from Moscow’s CSKA to AC Milan, a source at the Italian side told R-Sport on Thursday.

The highly rated 27-year-old midfielder has agreed to terms on a four-year deal with Milan, the source said.

If the sides can't agree on a transfer fee Honda is prepared to sit out the last six months on his contract and join for free in the winter transfer window, the source said.

Italian media reports say CSKA is holding out for more than the 7 million euros that Milan is offering.

Last month, Japanese media quoted Honda as saying his mission at CSKA was finished and he hoped to move to another team, while his teammate Alan Dzagoev said he had already said his goodbyes.

Honda joined CSKA from Dutch team Venlo in 2010 and helped the side to the league and cup double last season, adding those trophies to the Russian Cup he won in 2011.

He has 44 caps for Japan, scoring 15 goals, the last of which earned the team a spot at the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.
