MAKHACHKALA, July 7 (RIA Novosti) - Two suspected militants were killed in Buinaksk, a city in Russia’s North Caucasus Republic of Dagestan, a spokesman for the republic’s interior ministry said on Sunday.
“On Saturday night, traffic police officers stopped a car with two men for an identity check. The men opened fire and fled. They were blocked and killed some 1.5 hours later,” the source said.
According to preliminary information, the men were identified as active members of a local militant group.
Police seized two Kalashnikov assault rifles from them.
