WASHINGTON, July 8 (RIA Novosti) – Russian-born comedian and actor Eugene Mirman is set to host a comedy concert celebrating US indie record label Sub Pop’s 25th anniversary in Seattle on July 12, according to the non-profit Seattle Theatre Group’s website.

Mirman, 38, immigrated to the US with his parents when he was 4 years old. He is currently the voice of “Gene” on the Fox animated series “Bob’s Burgers” and has appeared in two specials on the popular cable television channel Comedy Central.

Sub Pop is the Seattle-based record label that released Nirvana’s first LP, “Bleach” in 1989, launching the “grunge rock” movement that dominated the American rock scene in the early 1990s. Mirman has released two comedy LPs via Sub Pop.

Proceeds from the concert, which also features comedians Marc Maron and Kristen Schaal, will go to charity. Mirman’s most recent CD, “An Evening of Comedy in a Fake Underground Laboratory” was released in February.
