Russian Premier League side FC Volga have been left baffled after one of their top summer signings dropped off the radar, the club's general director Sergei Anisimov said Friday.

NIZHNY NOVGOROD, July 12 (R-Sport) - Russian Premier League side FC Volga have been left baffled after one of their top summer signings dropped off the radar, the club's general director Sergei Anisimov said Friday.

Midfielder Jorge Luis Luna, 26, signed for Volga in mid-June and was set to become the first Argentinian at the club, but has not reported for training.

“We signed a contract, but he hasn’t arrived in the agreed time,” Anisimov said. “We are not OK with it. We have sent an official request to the Argentinian FA and are waiting for their answer and comments. We won’t let this situation pass us by.”

Luna is one of 12 signings Volga have made so far in the off-season.

He scored six goals and set up seven more in 33 appearances last season for San Martin de San Juan in the Argentine Primera Division.

Volga start the new season Sunday with a trip to Dynamo Moscow.
