MOSCOW, July 13 (RIA Novosti) – A third passenger on the Asiana flight that crashed at San Francisco airport last week has died from her injuries, San Francisco General Hospital has confirmed.
The name and age of this latest victim, reportedly a Chinese girl who had been in critical condition since she was hospitalized, have not been released.
All three people who died were part of a student group from China’s Zhejian province who were headed to a US summer camp, China’s Xinhua news agency reported Saturday.
More than half the passengers on the ill-fated Asiana Airlines Boeing 777 flight from Korea to the United States were hospitalized after the accident, Xinhua reported.
Earlier this week the US National Transportation Safety Board, which is investigating the crash, said that one of the pilots had been “temporarily blinded” by a bright light at an altitude of 500 feet.
In a statement released on Saturday, the president and CEO of Asiana Airlines sent his condolences to the “grieving family and loved ones of this passenger and to all those who have been affected by this regretful incident.”
