WASHINGTON, July 16 (RIA Novosti) – Russian-American filmmaker and media entrepreneur Vlad Yudin is set to premiere his debut graphic novel “Head Smash” at Comic-Con in San Diego this week, ahead of a national release July 31 according to Yudin’s official website.
Russian-born Yudin, who is a partner in the New York-based media and entertainment firm The Vladar Company, teamed with Canadian comics firm Arcana to publish the book. Hollywood actor Bill Paxton has lent his voice to an online trailer, the entertainment news magazine Variety reported.
Described by the Vladar website as “A sci-fi, thriller, action story set in a fantasy filled, lurid city of Ares about an orphan who finds a safe haven with a brutal syndicate – The Horde,” “Head Smash” may have a future beyond the page. Yudin, who co-wrote the script, plans to film an adaptation, and is already in pre-production according to the IMDB website.
Yudin previously directed and produced the video documentary “Big Pun: The Legacy” about the deceased rap star, as well as the 2009 feature film “Last Day of Summer.”
