MOSCOW, July 20 (R-Sport) - A delegation from Italian football giants AC Milan has arrived in the Russian capital to try to close a deal to sign CSKA Moscow playmaker Keisuke Honda, Sky Italia reported Saturday.
Honda, 27, is thought to be ready to leave but CSKA are holding out for more than the reported 2 million euros that Milan have offered.
Weakening CSKA's hand is the fact that Honda can leave for free in January, when his contract expires.
CSKA general director Roman Babaev has refused to say what he would consider an acceptable fee for Honda, who is a key component of Leonid Slutsky's side.
Last month, Japanese media quoted Honda as saying his mission at CSKA was finished and he hoped to move to another team.
But he played in CSKA's opening two games of the 2013-14 season, scoring twice in the 3-0 Russian Super Cup win over Zenit St. Petersburg and playing in Wednesday's 2-2 draw against FC Ural.
