MOSCOW, July 21 (RIA Novosti) - At least 46 people were killed and over 150 wounded after a series of blasts that ripped through commercial streets of Baghdad on Saturday late night, Al Jazeera reported.
All blasts were caused by explosive-laden cars that were timed to go off after the breaking of daily Ramadan fest, when many people were outside in the commercial streets relaxing in coffee shops or shopping.
The deadly attacks took place Baghdad’s neighborhoods of Jididayh, Karrada, Baiyaa, Shurta, Tobchi and Zafaraniyah, which are mainly populated by Shiite Muslims.
No one claimed responsibility as of yet for Saturday’s blasts, the agency reported.
The attacks are the latest in a series of violence in Iraq. According to Al Jazzera, over 200 people were killed in terrorist attacks since the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
