MOSCOW, July 22 (RIA Novosti) – Police officers nabbed a 23-year-old man who stole more than 160 servings of ice cream on a warm summer day and started feeding them to passersby, Russian authorities said Monday.
The man, who already had a long rap sheet, found the ice cream in a freezer left unattended on a street in Cheboksary, capital of Russia’s Chuvash Republic, in the Volga Federal District, according to a police statement.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, when the temperature there was around 25 degrees Celsius (77 Fahrenheit). According to the police statement, the man said he took the ice cream because he “was drunk.”
