LONDON, July 23 (RIA Novosti) – Prince William and his wife Kate carried their newborn child outside a London hospital on Tuesday, offering the world a much-anticipated first glimpse of the royal baby boy.
The couple took turns holding their baby while greeting the crowd, posing for photographers and talking to reporters.
"He's a big boy. He's quite heavy," William told the crowd. "We're still working on a name. We'll have that as soon as we can."
After a brief interview, he put the baby carrier in the backseat of a car and drove away himself.
The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to the boy on Monday. Kensington Palace said in an announcement that the child weighed 3.8 kilograms and was born at 4:24 p.m. GMT.
The baby is the third in line to the British throne, after his grandfather Prince Charles and father Prince William.
